EOnline interviewed Dan Aykroyd who really has nothing else to talk about these days other than Ghostbusters and he was very excited at the possibility of a Judd Apatow/Seth Rogan Ghostbusters 3.

Well, y’know, two sharp young writers are purported to be writing the sequel, the third movie now. If I could interest Seth [Rogen] and Judd [Apatow] to be part of it, that would be an absolute dream.

“This slimer’s ectoplasm might knock you up”

I, for one would welcome an Apatow version of Ghostbusters. As much as I love the original franchise, the third could use a fresh upgrade in it’s comedy.

Who wouldn’t want to hear Egon and Ray have a conversation like this…

Egon: You know how I know you’re gay?
Ray: How?
Egon: That toaster was a dude.
